"Mirror City" is an audio-visual performance by composer and performer Dasom Baek, presented at the 2021 Arts Council Korea Creative Hub Showcase. The piece sets the traditional Korean daegeum against real-time interactive visuals — the performed works "Human Machine" and "Deep Sea" moving through themes of identity, technology, and the inner life.
The audio-reactive visuals were built as a particle system driven by Dasom Baek's live daegeum. "Mirror City" pulls the audience into a space where ancient melodies meet a futuristic landscape, sitting comfortably with very different audiences — from listeners new to Korean traditional music or media art to specialists in either field.
